Buemi inherits point as Schumacher is relegated

Sébastien Buemi has picked up his first points finish of the 2010 season, courtesy of Michael Schumacher's 20-second relegation in Monaco on Sunday. The 7-time World Champion had finished the race sixth but is now classified as 12th after overtaking the Ferrari of Fernando Alonso under Safety Car conditions.

It was a disappointing first Monaco Grand Prix for Virgin Racing as the debutant outfit, like both other new-for-2010 teams, failed to make the finish on Sunday. Timo Glock was the first to retire, after his car began to steer from the rear, before team-mate Lucas di Grassi's day ended just three laps later, with 56 laps still to go.
