Excellent race for Bridgestone on last visit to Budapest

Red Bull Racing’s Mark Webber used a fantastic super soft – medium Bridgestone tyre strategy to win the Hungarian Grand Prix and take the lead of the Formula 1 drivers’ championship. Webber completed a mammoth 43 lap first stint on the same set of Bridgestone super soft tyres with which he qualified,

Michael Schumacher penalized for Barrichello block

After considering the overtaking move of Barrichello to Schumacher on lap 66 of the Hungarian GP, the stewards have found that Schumacher deliberately moved away from his line to block Barrichello, and hence receives a penalty.

1-3 for Red Bull leaves Vettel disappointed

In an unexpected turn of events, Red Bull had a more difficult race than expected after showing its utter dominance in practice and qualifying. Webber scored the win thanks to a great pitstop strategy while Vettel lost it due to a drive-through penalty. 3rd is the best he could do after that.

13th only after difficult day for Force India

After a difficult weekend Force India finished the Hungarian Grand Prix with Tonio Liuzzi in 13th position. Adrian Sutil did not finish the race after a frustrating pitlane accident. The team is now 6th in the championship standings before its summer break ahead of the Belgian GP.

Another reliable race for Hispania

Both cars in the points again for Williams

Nico Hulkenberg claimed a career-best sixth place Formula One finish in today’s Hungarian GP, driving a mature and controlled race amid an incident-filled afternoon. Despite a team mechanic being slightly injured in the pits, the team is happy with another double points finish.

Petrov takes his best finish for Renault

Vitaly Petrov has secured his best finish yet in Formula One by finishing in 5th place at today's Hungarian Grand Prix. He was extremely happy with the result, in presence of many of his family. Robert Kubica on the other hand didn't make the finish due to a pitlane accident.

Both Sauber's get into the points at the Hungaroring

In what was the 300th Grand Prix for Peter Sauber’s team both drivers finished in the points for the first time this year: Pedro de la Rosa came seventh in today’s Hungarian Grand Prix in Budapest while his team mate Kamui Kobayashi finished ninth having started from 23rd on the grid.

A great day for Lotus as they finish 14th and 15th

Lotus Racing enjoyed an excellent day in the heat of the Hungarian Grand Prix with Heikki Kovalainen finishing 14th and Jarno Trulli just behind in 15th. A very exciting race, full of incidents throughout the grid, saw the squad firmly consolidate their position at the top of the new team chart, sending the team into the summer break full of confidence for the challenges that lay ahead.

Toro Rosso to use KERS in 2011

As part of the engine supply partnership between the Italian Scuderia's Ferrari and Toro Rosso, the latter will also be using the KERS package on the 056 engine from Maranello. The main reason being that the way the energy recovery system is integrated with the engine there is no alternative.

Difficult day for the Toro Rosso's with one DNF

The Scuderia Toro Rosso began the race with a sudden DNF on behalf of the Spaniard Alguersuari who retired with an engine failure. In the meantime Sebastien Buemi continued the race and managed to pick up a few places and finish in 12th place, just shy of picking up some points.

Webber takes the win from penalized Vettel

McLaren and Mercedes ask for front wing clarifications

After a few teams questioned the legality of the front wings used by Red Bull and Ferrari, McLaren and Mercedes GP have taken the initiative to ask the FIA for further clarification. During and after the German GP both teams in question passed the flexibility tests issued on the front wings, but further analysis has shown that they in fact do flex further down than what should be deemed legal.

Kobayashi gets five-place grid penalty

Sauber driver Kamui Kobayashi was handed a five-place grid penalty for tomorrow's Hungarian Grand Prix as he ignored a call to go into the FIA garage during qualifying. Kobayashi was called in by the stewards to be weighed after the end of Q2, but he did not see the red light at the pitlane entry and drove towards his team's garage. Due to the penalty, Kobayashi will start from 23rd on the grid.

Another all Red Bull front row at Hungary

It wasn't a really exciting qualifying session this afternoon at the Hungaroring as the Red Bull Racing F1 Team dominated the session, just as they dominated all three free practice sessions. Sebastian Vettel took another pole position, team mate Mark Webber will join him on the front row.

Petrov outqualifies Kubica for the first time this season

Difficult afternoon for Button

The Hungarian qualifying session wasn't exactly a walk in the park for the team that's leading both championships. Senna beats Yamamoto in Hungarian qualifying, HRT still far behind

Hispania Racing, HRT F1 Team, completed qualifying for the Hungarian Grand Prix today. Both Bruno Senna’s and Sakon Yamamoto’s cars performed reliably and also managed to run faster than in the morning session. Bruno Senna will start tomorrow’s race from 23rd position after clocking a best lap time of 1.26.391 and Sakon Yamamoto will start just behind him in 24th position (1.26.453).
