Kobayashi gets five-place grid penalty

Sauber driver Kamui Kobayashi was handed a five-place grid penalty for tomorrow's Hungarian Grand Prix as he ignored a call to go into the FIA garage during qualifying. Kobayashi was called in by the stewards to be weighed after the end of Q2, but he did not see the red light at the pitlane entry and drove towards his team's garage. Due to the penalty, Kobayashi will start from 23rd on the grid.

Another all Red Bull front row at Hungary

It wasn't a really exciting qualifying session this afternoon at the Hungaroring as the Red Bull Racing F1 Team dominated the session, just as they dominated all three free practice sessions. Sebastian Vettel took another pole position, team mate Mark Webber will join him on the front row.

Petrov outqualifies Kubica for the first time this season

Difficult afternoon for Button

Senna beats Yamamoto in Hungarian qualifying, HRT still far behind

Hispania Racing, HRT F1 Team, completed qualifying for the Hungarian Grand Prix today. Both Bruno Senna’s and Sakon Yamamoto’s cars performed reliably and also managed to run faster than in the morning session. Bruno Senna will start tomorrow’s race from 23rd position after clocking a best lap time of 1.26.391 and Sakon Yamamoto will start just behind him in 24th position (1.26.453).

Williams duo to start Hungarian GP from 10th and 12th on the grid

In today’s qualifying session for the Hungarian GP, Nico Hulkenberg completed the afternoon in the top ten. After a strong start Rubens Barrichello, fell foul of the short lap distance which created a very busy Q2 session during which he was unable to find sufficient track space with which to extract the best from the option tyre. He will start from P12.

Cypher group withdraws 2011 candidature

The Cypher Group have announced officially that they have withdrawn their bid to enter Formula One in 2011. The group said that after much consideration, it finds it impossible to get the necessary budget together to ensure the project a good life in F1.

Only an electrical fault prevents Ferrari from having a perfect day

It was a positive day for Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro, with a lot of work completed and signs of being competitive. In the morning session, the team worked mainly on the evaluation of various new technical solutions for forthcoming races and on a comparison of some aerodynamic configurations.

HRT proud of mileage and reliablity thus far

The first practice day got underway at the Hungaroring today. Under dry and sunny conditions, the drivers of Hispania Racing Bruno Senna and Sakon Yamamoto were in action and covered 58 laps between them in the morning and 65 more in the afternoon. In the first session, the Brazilian driver ended up 23rd with a best lap time of 1.26.990 and the Japanese driver finished 24th (1.28.157).

Busier Friday than normal for Renault

The Renault Formula One Team has had a good day of work at the Hungaroring in Budapest today. Both Robert Kubica and Vitaly Petrov did a lot of work and put down some very competitve lap times. The team will now make the last preparations for tomorrow's third free practice and, more importantly, the qualifying session.

Mercedes disappointed with Friday's running
