Reliable first day of running for Kobayashi

Jerez de la Frontera, 7th February 2012 – The Sauber F1 Team is happy with the first day of pre-season testing in Jerez. Kamui Kobayashi was at the wheel of the new Sauber C31-Ferrari. The car proved to be reliable which allowed Kamui to cover more than one hundred laps and the team to carry out a comprehensive test programme.

Lotus F1 Team’s 2012 challenger, the E20, topped the times during the first day of testing at Jerez with Kimi Räikkönen at the wheel. The Finn completed 75 laps around Jerez, setting a best time of 1:19.670.

Williams limits itself to system checks

After presenting their car to the public right before the start of testing, Williams had only limited running today. Pastor Maldonado completed 25 laps with a fastest time of 1:23.371, ending the day 11th fastest.

Red Bull's testing debut delayed

Red Bull had an unexpected morning as they were unable to debut their RB8 before noon as the team still had to wait for some new components. Mark Webber however still managed to complete 54 laps on the car's debut at Jerez.

Renault kicks off 2012 campaign

Raikkonen to work with his McLaren engineer once again

Petrov waiting on sponsors to seal new deal

Oksana Kosachenko, the Russians manager, has blamed the slow-to-react speed of his sponsors for the lack of progress, but assures us that there are more than a few options still open.

Santander with Ferrari until at least 2017

Eeckelaert leaves HRT

Today NOVA Chemicals Corporation (NOVA Chemicals) announced that it has extended its sponsorship agreement and technical partnership with the Scuderia Toro Rosso Formula 1 team. Throughout the 2012 season, the NOVA Chemicals logo will feature on the race suits and on the cars, on the nose and on the cockpit. It also appears on the kit worn by team personnel.

Toro Rosso reveals its 2012 challenger
